The GOS feels the need to pontificate about those cartoons. He means, of course, the cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed that were published in a Danish newspaper, and subsequently in other papers in Spain and France, and which have caused such offence to Muslims all over the uncivilised world. The GOS doesn't give a toss about the over-sensitivity of ignorant God-botherers of whatever faith. He cares quite a lot about free speech and has been sniggering quietly to himself ever since (a) Tony Bliar and his minions cocked up the voting on the iniquitous Racial and Religious Hatred Bill, and (b) the obnoxious Nick Griffin and his sidekick Mark Collett were acquitted at Leeds Crown Court (not that he sympathises with their views, you understand - he simply thinks that instead of bringing dubious legal cases against them, you should just take them down an alley and give them a bloody good kicking). But he also cares about standards, and the plain fact is that the cartoons in question just aren't funny. So what was the point? If you want to see how very unfunny they are, go to the Jyllands Posten website. either on this site or on the World Wide Web. This site created and maintained by PlainSite |
